More than 1,500 apartments, around half subsidised, are being built on nine hectares. The education campus and Walter-Kuhn-Park are already usable. The city gives 2026/2027 as the development period for the new neighbourhood.
The neighbourhood is still being developed; the campus and park are already in operation. GB* also reports construction work at Inventarhalle from June 2026.
For the 124-hectare area, a new district with around 9,000 apartments, workplaces and a Grüner Ring is planned. The urban development masterplan was adopted on 18 May 2026 and forms the basis for the land-use and development plan.
The resolution concerns the masterplan. The official page refers to concept preparation; neither planning permission nor the start of construction is claimed.
